Inside a protected river landscape. The National Chambal Sanctuary protects 400 km of free-flowing river and a one-to-six kilometre band of ravine on either bank — 1,235 sq km granted Protected Area status in 1979, specifically to pull the gharial back from extinction.

Conservation is the operating model, not a page on the website. The lodge runs under the Chambal Eco Preservation & Welfare Society, formed in 2014. Guest revenue funds habitat work and creates paid, trained employment in one of the more economically neglected pockets of Agra district.
